Busy Busy Busy
June is the time of the year which is similar to Christmas; everyone seems to need something by the 30th of June!
Even though I seem to be pretty good a multitasking, sometimes this works against me as I take on too much and have delays when something else 'jumps' the queue. Pretty standard stuff: you have to juggle 'important' versus 'urgent'...and when you are told something is 'urgent' you have to ask questions on the validity of the urgency.
I have to say, I love working in IT, I enjoy solving problems and at the end of the day I feel I have achieved something. I thought I would never say this but I work with a pretty good team of guys, we seem to link well together and I have learnt a lot from them and keep things moving along.
My work is quite varied ranging from desktop support to 3rd level support; it can be hard to juggle sometimes but you plough through it one task at a time.
Slow and steady is the order of the day at the moment!

Winter is here
Winter started with a bang: rain and viruses all-round!
It is so hard when your little ones get sick, not just because you have to juggle work around them but it is physically and mentally stressing. Every time they sneeze or give you the look of uncertainty, your heart looses a beat!
Thank God things have been back to normal for the past week, and we can focus on getting our work done, for a while anyway.
We are really busy on the work front; with our day jobs and second/ third jobs at home! I feel guilty when I take a break from it all as I feel I should be doing something, either around the house, or catching up with my training.
On the photography front, I've been lucky to have more friends interested in getting photographs done and I am really looking forward to putting my training to practice!
Photography is with me everywhere I go, I look around me and I look at things with composition and posing in mind; it is something I can't let go of, so I'm continuing to pursue it.

Another Family shoot
Last weekend I photographed my sister and her family. The sun came out and I was very happy with the results! Most importantly she liked them and agreed for me to post them :).

Frijolito
I was lucky to do my first shoot post-creativeLive training.
I am grateful to Sofia and Benjamin for allowing me to do a maternity shoot!
They call their little baby boy 'Frijolito' (little bean in Spanish), and they are only 7 weeks away from the big day.
Below is the gallery from the shoot. Once again, Thank You Sofia and Benjamin and welcome to the Parenthood club :).

My ferrari
Having such wonderful child and husband makes me feel humble and guilty sometimes.
With great gifts come great responsibilities and it's important for me to give what I can to the people I love and cherish in this life, my family.
With my photography I feel I return the favours of having such wonderful beings around me. Perhaps I don't have to repay anything, but it feels right to capture and give back.
I hope this can spill over to other people around me and bring some happiness into their lives as a result.

Creativelive
CreativeLive is the most amazing resource I've found on the net!
I can't even remember how I can across it, I think I was just searching the web for photography information, and boom!
The most recent course: 28 Days with Sue Bryce has been the most amazing and powerful one that pushes me to create and practice everyday.
It's not easy working full time and trying to get a photography business off the ground, but the common theme from all these workshops is the same: work hard and it will pay off.
Meanwhile, at our home, we finally put up our letterbox! Mail is now being delivered to our state, so Maya and Daddy have been busy around the house :). It's great to see them both working together, she loves helping.

4 today
When you spent a lot of time and effort into something and it turns out to be a disaster, you can even feel physically sick. I was out of ideas this past Sunday when our dear munchkin decided she didn't want to be part of her own birthday party.
This was the first time we did anything like this. We provided the spaces, the games, the toys, the food...but it was all too much for her.
She shows she doesn't like attention, and perhaps it was all too confusing for her...
*sigh* Moral of the story, we won't be doing this again in a hurry. To me it seems like the more you give your kids, the less they feel the need to ask and feel they need something else?
As parents we want to give, but sometimes it's best to let them ask. It is good to want stuff, it makes you strive for it.
On the kindy front, this has been a better week and hopefully she'll start to trust her teachers and worry about it less.
